Makers Using Technology Seminar | Seminar Gwneuthurwyr yn Defnyddio Technoleg

Design Wales Forum wants to commission four makers to make a new piece of work, using haptic modelling and 3D printing technologies. The makers will receive training in the technologies as well as having a business support programme tailored especially for them.

At the end of the residencies the chosen makers will have not only made a new piece of work but gained training which they can then use elsewhere on future projects.

Last Friday we hosted a seminar so that potential applicants could find out more about our Makers Using Technology residencies and try out the technologies.

Mae Fforwm Dylunio Cymru am gomisiynu pedwar gwneuthurwr i greu darn newydd o waith gan ddefnyddio technolegau modelu haptig ac argraffu 3D. Bydd y gwneuthurwyr yn derbyn hyfforddiant yn y technolegau yn ogystal â chael rhaglen o gymorth busnes wedi’i theilwra’n arbennig iddynt hwy.

Ar ddiwedd y cyfnodau preswyl bydd y gwneuthurwyr a ddewisir nid dim ond wedi creu darn newydd o waith ond hefyd wedi derbyn hyfforddiant y gallant ei ddefnyddio ar brosiectau eraill yn y dyfodol.

The makers got a chance to try out the Freeform haptic modelling system with Peter Dorrington. | Cafodd y gwneuthurwyr gyfle i roi cynnig ar y system modelu haptig Freeform gyda Peter Dorrington.

Tom Edmunds talked through the four 3D printing technologies available to the resident makers. | Rhoddodd Tom Edmunds sgwrs am y pedwar technoleg argraffu 3D sydd ar gael i’r gwneuthurwyr preswyl.

The residencies are being offered by Design Wales Forum, and have been funded by the Arts Council Wales through the lottery fund, and the National Centre for Product Design and Research.
