Victoria Jones  
Programme Director

Makers Using Technology was developed and is led by Victoria. She works alongside the technical teams to maintain the creative, strategic and logistical elements of the programme.

A life long maker, Victoria is an experienced project manager within both the art and design sectors. She has been a practicing fine artist since graduating from Camberwell School of Art in 1992. She subsequently trained in design and has had a parallel career as a designer and design advisor.

Experienced in commercial and academic research, Victoria is a co-investigator of the research aspects of the programme.

A seasoned public speaker, Victoria regularly gives talks about art, design, making and technology. She is the main point of contact for Makers Using Technology.

Dr Peter Dorrington

Peter Dorrington MakersUsing technology

Peter is responsible for the training aspects of Makers Using Technology.

An experienced researcher Peter is a co-investigator with the research aspects of the programme. Peter is a Research Fellow at the International Centre for Design and Research at Cardiff Metropolitan University. His interests span across the area of product design and manufacture, focussing on collaborative design practices to speed up innovation, and emerging technologies such as desk-based 3D printing. This includes an understanding of the organisational settings required for emergent technologies.

Diana Oliveira  
Programme Assistant

Diana assists with some of the logistical elements of the programme. She is the programme archivist and creates some of its social media output.

Diana is a trained photographer, graduating from University of Wales Newport in 2011. Parallel to her involvement with Makers Using Technology, Diana has a business specialising in Product Photography.

Through her involvement in the programme Diana has shared her knowledge of photography with the resident makers.This has led Diana to take up a PGCE at Cardiff University to train as a photography tutor.

Technical Team In the residencies of 2013 - 2015 we worked with the technical team at PDR - International Centre for Design and Research at Cardiff Metropolitan University.
