Makers Using Technology on TV... | Gwneuthurwyr yn Defnyddio Technoleg ar y Teledu...
Makers Using Technology is a pilot project run by Design Wales Forum. We have selected four artist/makers to create a new piece of work using haptic modelling technology and 3D printing. The makers will be resident for 8 weeks at a time, at The National Centre for Product Design and Research (PDR) where we are based.
Last week Makers Using Technology was featured on ITV Wales news. The news item centred on the learning exchange between the four artists and the researchers and technicians at based at PDR.
The first resident artist Jessica Lloyd Jones is featured in the footage. We have already learnt from Jessica's experience with us. Her project has extended our knowledge of the constraints of scanning technologies and has taken one of our 3D printers to its limits!

Cynllun peilot a gynhelir gan Fforwm Dylunio Cymru yw Gwneuthurwyr yn Defnyddio Technoleg. Rydym wedi dewis pedwar artist/gwneuthurwr i greu darn newydd o waith gan ddefnyddio technoleg modelu haptig ac argraffu 3D. Bydd y gwneuthurwyr yn artistiaid preswyl am 8 wythnos ar y tro, yn y Ganolfan Genedlaethol Dylunio Cynnyrch ac Ymchwil (PDR) lle rydym wedi ein lleoli.
Yr wythnos ddiwethaf gwelwyd Gwneuthurwyr yn Defnyddio Technoleg ar newyddion ITV Wales. Canolbwyntiodd yr eitem newyddion ar y cyfnewid dysgu rhwng y pedwar artist a’r ymchwilwyr a’r technegwyr oedd wedi eu lleoli yn PDR.
Mae’r artist preswyl cyntaf, Jessica Lloyd Jones, wedi ei chynnwys yn y rhaglen. Rydym eisoes wedi dysgu o brofiad Jessica gyda ni. Mae ei phrosiect wedi helaethu ein gwybodaeth am gyfyngiadau technolegau sganio ac mae wedi mynd ag un o’n peiriannau argraffu i’w eithaf!
