At last, you can see You may have noticed we've kept the final work of the fourth Makers Using Technology resident Anna Lewis a secret since the end of her residency back in August. This is because Anna wanted to launch her new collection of 3D printed pieces on 31st October, Halloween! Anna Lewis is an artist based in Swansea, her practice ranges from objects connected with the body to jewellery design, installation and lens based art. In 8 weeks she learned about the haptic technology and 3D printing whilst making new pieces of work as part of her residency. Anna says "I have had an amazing time during my residency. Design Wales and PDR staff were incredibly helpful and supportive. I have learnt so much about new processes and am now confident in using 3D software to build my designs. I would love to push this further and make more complex impossible objects. 3D printing can really open up new possibilities for makers. I see it as a new tool in the workshop." You can see more pieces from Anna Lewis' residency on her website www.annalewisjewellery.co.uk All images courtesy of Anna Lewis. Tweet |
