Meet Anne-Mie Melis... Anne Mie Melis received a Research and Development Award from the Arts Council Wales to use our Maker Space, learn haptic technology Freeform and develop a new project with 3D printing. Anne-Mie is the 6th artist to go through this process with us through our Makers Using Technology project. Anne-Mie is a visual artist based in Pontypridd. Her work 'explores organisms and their role in an increasingly technology-infiltrated world' blurring the lines between art and science. During her time with us, she has been experimenting with different 3D scanning technologies thanks to ISD and Morriston Hospital, and learning about 3D design processes with the aim of designing prototypes for her sculptural work. We are very exited to see how it will develop in the next few weeks. Watch this space for more news from Anne-Mie Melis soon! Meanwhile, check out her work: www.axisweb.org/p/annemiemelis Tweet |
