In 2013 I spent two days travelling around the highlands of Scotland
in a mini-bus. The itinerary and the driving of the bus was determined by someone else. I found the experience unusually passive. It became about listening and looking but not really interacting. i was a passenger. As an adult, loss of control is an unusual experience.
With other people I was led to Glen Coe, Rannoch Moor and the oldest pine forest in the UK. I was interested in how I would respond to a location (Scotland) which I have no connection with, as I am curious about how people connect with locations. I tried to make sense of the experience through making small films of the movement through the landscape and of the wind...and through a text.
